Derek was actually born in a house in The Boulevard in Worthing and attended Broadwater Manor School in Worthing before moving onto a Grammar School in Hampshire and returning to sit O’levels at Worthing Technical High School.
On leaving school Derek worked for 3 local estate agents before forming Jacobs Steel & Company with partner Ashley Jacobs in 1984.
A keen local footballer in his early years, Derek played for several local county league sides and was player/manager of the top Sunday Sussex League, Allington for many years. His hobbies also include Tennis, golf and watching football.
Derek lives in Findon Valley with his partner Helen, their son Charlie and Helen’s 2 daughters Emma and Aimee.
Having managed the West Worthing office of Jacobs Steel for over 15 years, Derek is now working hard to expand the Land & New Homes Department of Jacobs Steel.
